Youth development

The AsterX team was shaped by personal and professional experiences that showed us, first-hand, just how much support young people need in their development — especially those facing geographic, social, or economic barriers. It’s not only young people: adults who feel they want more from their lives also need this kind of guidance. Each member of our team has, in turn, benefited from educational programs that encouraged and supported their own personal and professional development — an experience that showed us how important it is to build the same opportunities for others.

Development doesn’t happen only at school. That’s why we believe in spaces where young people and adults can talk, experiment, and practice skills that school and society don’t otherwise offer. In Romania, few children and young people have access to extracurricular activities during holidays or to summer camps, and recent results — PISA test scores, functional illiteracy rates, school dropout rates — point to an increasingly critical situation, one that stifles creativity and young people’s ability to find their own path — a path full of opportunities, not obstacles. Through our activities, we want to offer exactly that space: one where everyone can discover and build their own path, with the right support.
