Community and participation

Democratic values matter deeply to us, which is why we want to help build an inclusive community in which everyone plays their part. We want to raise awareness among young people and adults about the need for individual involvement in what happens around them — starting with simple things (a freshly painted fence, a well-kept yard) and building up to real participation in decisions that affect the community.

Our core message is about responsibility: an individual action, however small, often inspires similar behavior — whether positive or negative — and can change how an entire community looks and functions. That’s why we encourage people to act, instead of waiting for someone else — the mayor’s office, the school, “somebody” — to fix things for them. Through our activities, we want to show that real change starts with each of us, not with institutions or authorities, and that active participation is how democratic values come to life in a community.
